You may have noticed that I have been flirting with the "lace'n'garter" hashtag for quite some time; well, the more I use it the most confident I am about it. Although I have worked with various stitch patterns and techniques, in fact I have even designed brioche and/or mosaic and stranded colorwork items and will …

...coming up by the end of January is my first knitting pattern for 2019. Fika is a Swedish word which refers to " a coffee and cakes break" which should happen everyday and in the company of good friends and family. Can you think of a better start for a new year? As the holidays …

...has just begun! I hope you had a great time, both saying goodbye to 2018 and welcoming 2019. For me and my family it has been as it should be: cooking a nice, festive dinner and enjoying being well and being together with a glass of wine. At first, we had planned to go out …

Day #30 – A much needed break…

On 30/12/201829/12/2018 By mariazilIn In English please...Leave a comment

...if only for a few days, is always necessary when running a creative business. Life is usually spent working and rushing, we barely take a moment off to relax, breath in and breath out and be thankful for what we have. This year's last weekend is my ultimate weekend off. I will enjoy serving freshly …

Day #29 – A year of patterns (Part B)

On 29/12/2018 By mariazilIn In English please...Leave a comment

As I go through my 2018 self-published patterns, I feel so blessed that I am able to do what I love and to love what I do: knitting is a very solitary occupation, even when you are surrounded by knitters you are the one in charge of your project, it is the result of your …

Day #28 – I just finished …

On 28/12/2018 By mariazilIn In English please...1 Comment

...listening to "The Little Book of Hygge" by Meik Wiking and I confess, I got hooked. It describes the Danish way of living every moment and savouring little things in life in such an appealing way. I just love listening to audiobooks, I suspect all knitters do, and this one was just perfect for this …

...is traditionally served on Christmas Day; every bakery in town prepares fluffy, elaborate breads you can buy to enjoy with the special meals on Christmas Day. I always bake ours and I must say this year I used the "baguettes" recipe from the Craftsy class I had taken last summer: it was the best Christmas …

It's #cold but #sunny and it feels so much better when I start the day with a large cup of #strong #coffee and #warm #feet! Looking forward to a #creative week ahead! Happy #Monday to you all!
A sunny, improvised #breakfast #trifle to get me through a busy morning: layers of #greekyogurt and #muesli, topped with a generous spoonful of my #winterfruit #jam !
Last time it snowed in Piraeus, it was in 2008, yes, 13 years ago! Well, today we woke up to see this and have bit of much needed fun! ❄❄❄
How do you like my #winterfruit #jam ? I simply ❤ winter fruits, #oranges are my favourite and they make a great #combo with #apples #lemons and #carrots ! Yes, there is a carrot in there and it's #delicious.
What can you do when the #model is a timid #teenager who doesn't feel comfortable in front of a camera? Well, take a #sneakpic , of course! I think the #fauxseam can be actually seen, if you take the trouble to look for it! Well, I am happy to say that I will soon have it properly written, it has to be a really #sizeinclusive #pattern and I will need as many #testknitters as possible for this babe. I promise to keep you posted on dates and yarn requirements😉
Bittersweet #homemade #orangemarmalade on #toast for a late, Sunday #breakfast. I made the #marmalade yesterday, using #organic #oranges, so that I could include the orange #peel cut into thin pieces. This makes such a difference in taste and flavour! Hope you enjoy a peaceful, happy Sunday! 🍊🍊🍊

STRONGER TOGETHER

Let’s meet on
