…is a garter and lace shawl, what else? It’s called “Season’s MKAL” and it starts on December 13, 2018.Well, after all, it is the most wonderful time of the year or should I say the busiest one? Probably both, but knitters are multi-taskers, so, you can squeeze in another project, just for the fun of it.
All you are going to need is a circular needle, a couple of stitch markers and, of course, fingering -weight yarn in 2 colorways: one in a solid or semi-solid color and one in a variegated or speckled colorway to contrast. You will be playing with these two to spend some quiet time knitting and eventually creating a beautiful shawl to keep you warm this winter.
I used the yarn provided by “Le Tinte Del Bosco”, an indie yarn dyer that uses only natural dyes to create her gorgeous colorways. She literally goes into the forest to collect what she needs; nature is the only resource and the result is obviously amazing! Elisabetta, the yarn dyer, is currently preparing several kits with various colorways that will look great together and will help you knit a unique shawl, so, maybe, you would like to pop to her FB page and check her work.
In any case, the pattern is rather beginner-friendly as the lace motif is easy to memorize, yet interesting enough for the veteran knitter, too. It is a triangular shawl, knit sideways, easily shaped with kfb increases and making the most of the lace motif; I will say no more, as this is supposed to be a surprise! The MKAL will be hosted in my Ravelry Group, as usual and on FB, in a group created especially for this purpose!
