…crazy blankets! It’s been a while since my last post, so a lot of knitting has been done and a lot of writing patterns, too! If you take the time to visit my Ravelry store, you will perhaps be interested enough to participate in the upcoming May Royal MKAL (this one deserves a whole post of its own, but I thought I should include some info here, as this one is a perfect stashbuster, if you are looking for one).
In-between testing and writing down the clues for the MKAL, I took some time off to knit me a pair of ankle socks, made up of some beautiful yarn leftovers from previous pattern prototypes. That’s how I came up with this pattern for a pair of toe-up socks with an afterthought heel. Beautiful yarns blend together in harmony and this is why I call this pattern “Sock your fade”. It will be released on April 22, 2018 and will be available for free download until April 27, 2018, so make sure you don’t miss the chance, especially if you have those beautiful yarn leftovers that blend so well together!
Well, life cannot be all work and no fun can it? (actually I do have fun while working, but let’s pretend I don’t have that much fun, so I have an excuse for some extremely fun knitting, ok?) That’ s why I am currently making this totally crazy blanket: it’s made up of mitered squares that are joined as you go and of hundreds of scrap yarn, sock and fingering weight, in a variety of colours that you wouldn’t believe they would ever stand together in a project. It’s my bedtime project, and my TV project and my YouTube podcasts projects, well, I guess by now you got the idea! Garter stitch, mindless knitting and the world moves on! The best thing about it is it changes so much every time you add a few rows in a new colour, it makes knitting it a real addiction!
So what is your way of taking a break from knitting? Do you make use of your leftovers, too? I would really like to know what are your ways of making the most of your yarn, so, don’t forget to leave a comment and tell us all about it!
