…is not an option in this kind of business, but, as they say, life or, in my case, death happens and you suddenly have to look at things from a different perspective. My mom passed away a month ago after a year of illness. She was 86 years old and this means that she was fortunate enough to live a long life and experience lots of happy moments. She also had to live through many hardships and outlive her son, my own brother, who died five years ago, so, I’m sure that no one would envy her luck in life. Yet, to her last day, she had the strength not to burden us with her suffering and really help us get ready to cope with her loss.

When such a discreet, beloved person goes, you get to think a lot about life, what it matters and how people around you react to the fact that death is inevitable. You need time to reflect and time to assimilate the feelings and share them with your family and friends. You also get to know who really cares about you and, most of the times, this comes as a surprise (well, I’m sure you all know what I insinuate here).

I guess what I am trying to say is that I had to take my time off the Social Media and Ravelry and so I did; I focused a bit on my husband and son, my only family from now on, as well as dear friends who surrounded us with their love. I did work on one or two patterns backstage, so, get ready to learn all about these projects in a few days. I also found the time to give the blog a lifting, I really hope you like the new banner and layout.

Now, I’ve let you have a glimpse on what you can expect from me in the near future and all that’s left is for me to thank you  for your patience and support to me and my work througout the past month; I really felt the warmth of this wonderful international knitters’ community and I’m so grateful for it! Stay tuned for news about new patterns and upcoming KALs and keep knitting all the things!!!
