…to express my gratitude to my Ravelry friends who have been standing by me for a whole year, ever since I created my Designer’s Group. Testing and tech-editing, knitting my new patterns and creating some really beautiful knits out of them, caring about what’s happening here, in Greece, and supporting me in times of joy and times of hardship. I really, really can’t thank them enough.
Today I was reminded once again of how true and supportive real friends can be, [even if we have never even met in flesh and blood so to speak], when I received the package of one of my most loyal Ravelry pals, a test-knitter to most of my designs, Pam or “fiberlass” as she is known to our community of knitters and crocheters. The timing couldn’t have been better, for tomorrow is the celebration of my Saint (Saint Mary) and that unexpected gift made my day!
The yarn, well, I’m speechless… it’s as if I chose it myself, I really adore the colours and that’s exactly the kind of yarn I would buy all the time. Araucania is a forbidden luxury in Greece for the moment (due to the Capital controls we cannot buy anything from abroad), so that makes it even more valuable to me. She also took the trouble to make the matching Stitch Markers herself and added the perfect gadget: a ring that counts the rows for you!!!
There was also a postcard with the most thoughtful words but to this, I intend to answer personally. I can only say here that the package contents will serve as inspiration to my next pattern and that, yes, Pam, you managed to put a smile on my face and a big one for that matter!!! Thank you for thinking of me, thank you for the gift, thank you for being a friend!!!
