Adelina Shawl, a pattern being tested…

Adelina is the second in a series of knitting patterns inspired by the embroidery motifs found on the traditional Greek women outfits. Sikinos was the first one and it has been quite successful. This time, I created a rather easy lace motif, bearing in mind that there are many novice lace amateurs out there. I used a lively, colourful, variegated sock/lace yarn that flatters the motif, inspired by the embroidery motif on the brides’ dresses in Northern Greece, namely in Thraki.
It is currently being tested by a wonderful group of volunteer Test-Knitters, on Ravelry, and I’m planning to join them and knit a second one in a solid-coloured yarn for myself. Yes, this is my summer holidays project!!! Happy summer knitting everyone!!!
